/ hi, my name is gabriele. i’m an architect and urban planner, born in 1988.
// i work with space as a living material — a field of forces where geographies, imaginaries, and collective possibilities intersect.
i studied architecture and planning at the university of bologna, and over the years i’ve collaborated with architecture studios in italy and abroad, developing projects that range from the architectural to the urban scale.
my focus lies in the transformation of contemporary territories, with particular attention to the social and environmental dimensions of design.
i believe in an architecture that listens, that activates contexts rather than imposing itself, that inhabits thresholds more than it defines boundaries.
my practice moves between design, research, and vision — always seeking a balance between form and process, between intention and reality.
about me
/// Q: So, what kind of projects do you work on?
GB: I'm an architect and urban designer with a deep interest in the social, ecological and spatial implications of built environments. My work moves across scales—urban, architectural, and territorial—and across typologies, with a strong emphasis on context-driven design and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Over the years, I’ve been involved in a wide range of projects: from public space regeneration to sustainable housing, from urban masterplans to landscape interventions, and from cultural spaces to mobility infrastructures. I often work in teams that integrate design, policy and environmental expertise—whether through architectural studios or international research-based collaborations.
Here’s a selection of project types I’ve been working on recently:
HERITAGE, PUBLIC SPACE | ARCHITECTURAL REDEVELOPMENT
Contributed to the architectural transformation of a historic complex in Rome, integrating contemporary design solutions into a stratified context and enhancing public access through new spatial connections.
SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE, REUSE | PUBLIC BUILDING + OUTDOOR SPACE
Worked on the adaptive reuse of a disused slaughterhouse in a coastal town in Southern Italy, transforming it into an educational and recreational center for children. The intervention included the restoration of the historic structure, the removal of deteriorating additions, and the design of outdoor areas featuring educational gardens and a flexible public square.
ART, SCIENCE, EXHIBITION DESIGN | MULTIMEDIA INSTALLATION
Collaborated on the design of a modular exhibition for an emerging curator, showcasing astrophotography works in a spatially immersive environment. Set across multiple rooms, the installation used projection and scale to evoke a sense of cosmic vastness—transforming architecture into a narrative tool and inviting visitors into a contemplative relationship with the Universe.
Some projects are still under NDA or in development. I’ll be sharing selected case studies here soon.
